About this Dog
Breed: Chihuahua X DOB: 10/2021 Gender: female Altered: yes Coat: medium Size: small Color(s): tan/white Description: Hi, I'm Burtha, an energetic Chihuahua X rescued from a high kill shelter where I was found as a stray. I'm grateful to CARL for giving me the chance to find my forever home. I'm shy and unsure around new people, so I may need to get to know you over a few visits. Once I get to know you I love to be held and be with my person. Best home for me would be an adult only where I'd be showered with love and attention. I can get quite frisky, jumping on my long back legs. I need daily exercise. I enjoy my version of fetch and sometimes I will bring a toy back to be thrown again. I enjoy car rides too. I will try to dart out open doors at home, so care will need to be taken when opening doors and I am around. I enjoy burrowing under a blanket. I can jump higher than one may think to get onto a counter or table top. Care must be taken that I don't have access to things I shouldn't eat. I will sit and stay for a treat. I come when called unless there is something else I'd rather be doing. I need leash training. I also need to get used to being handled by more than one person. I tend to get attached to one person. If you think you can give me the life I deserve, please fill out an online application to meet me.
Contribute to Burtha's Stash!

100% of Burtha's balance will be sent to whoever adopts Burtha.
Adopt Burtha and Receive Burtha's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Burtha's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Burtha's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Burtha, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Burtha's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Burtha was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Burtha’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Burtha’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Burtha’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
