About this Dog
Adoption fee: $750 Meet the Salad Puppies! Born just a few days before arriving in rescue on May 31st, these five tiny delights have been growing up in a loving foster home with their amazing mama, Salad— a petite 13 lb Rat Terrier mix with a sweet personality and heart-melting charm. Now 8 weeks old, they’re ready to leaf the nest (sorry, we had to) and find forever homes of their own! These babies are small and will likely stay that way. But don’t be fooled by their size— they’re packed with personality and full of life! Mornings begin around 8AM with happy yelps and tail wags, followed by cuddles, breakfast, potty time, and supervised exploration. Their days are filled with a balance of play, naps, chew toys, and more cuddles, with three meals of dry puppy kibble and lots of love in between. At night, they sleep quietly in their cozy x-pen, sometimes with a bit of protest, but they settle quickly and snooze all the way through. These pups are working on potty training— some are already showing impressive consistency! They’re also being gently introduced to independent play and new surfaces to help build confidence. Here’s a peek at each leafy little individual: Cucumber Bold, bouncy, and totally fearless, Cucumber is the brave adventurer! He’s constantly on the move— scaling baby gates, climbing stairs, and zooming through the house. He’s independent but still checks in for kisses and finger chomps (the loving kind). With his sleek black coat and huge personality, he’s a total standout. Crouton The biggest pup and everybody’s favorite playmate, Crouton is as gentle as he is charming. He looks like a little Wishbone with classic good looks and a sweet, soulful face. He’s a leader, loves lap time, and makes strong eye contact like he’s really listening. Crouton always starts with a snuggle before dashing off to play— especially with his tiny sister, Tomato. Lettuce Lettuce is the softest soul of the bunch. A bit shy at first, he takes his time to warm up, but once he does, he wants nothing more than to curl up in your lap or snuggle under a blanket. He’s watchful and bright, occasionally jumping into play but often observing from a cozy perch. Sweet, gentle, and sensitive— he’s all heart. Ranch Ranch is a perfect mix of sweet and sassy. She’s the second smallest but big on affection, often begging to be picked up and cuddled. She loves exploring and can be surprisingly independent, but she’s always watching and taking it all in. Protective of her littlest sister Tomato and gentle with kids, Ranch is a loyal little lovebug. Tomato Tiny, mighty, and totally unforgettable, Tomato is the littlest by far— but she doesn’t seem to know that. With big ears, expressive eyes, and a voice to match, she’s packed with personality. Tomato loves to climb up around your neck and nap there like a parrot. She’s endlessly entertaining and deeply lovable. The world may see her as a pocket pup, but she’s got main character energy for days. These puppies are looking for homes ready to continue their socialization, structure, and cuddles. With a mix of energy levels, personalities, and plenty of charm to go around, there’s a perfect Salad pup for every kind of loving family. Adopting one of the Salad pups means welcoming eight pounds (give or take) of joy, chaos, and endless kisses into your life. Are you ready to grow together? We want the Salad: Crouton’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Salad: Crouton’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
