About this Dog
Adoption fee: $700 Meet Gatsby – the Gentle Soul with a Playful Side At 6 years old, Gatsby is a dapper little Poodle mix who has truly come into his own since being rescued from the shelter. He’s a calm, thoughtful companion who enjoys a slow-paced routine, a good sniff around the block, and the comfort of being near his people. Gatsby starts his day with a morning walk around 9 a.m. followed by breakfast. In the evenings, he enjoys another stroll and dinner before curling up for the night in his pen. While he’ll let you know if he’d prefer to be out and about with you instead of crated, he settles in just fine and is content when you’re out of the house. Though Gatsby was cautious at first, especially about being held or approached too quickly, he’s grown more affectionate and trusting. He doesn’t need constant attention but enjoys knowing you're nearby. He’s not a velcro dog, but he definitely notices where you are and likes to be close. Gatsby is house-trained, crate-trained, and very well-mannered indoors. He’s not destructive and doesn’t chew or dig, though he will give a few barks if someone passes by the house. He walks well on leash, though his curiosity sometimes leads him to pull as he explores. He's been polite with other dogs on walks and hasn't shown much interest in squirrels or birds. While Gatsby is mostly a lounger, he still has a playful streak. He loves ball games— especially the one he invented where he pushes the ball off the couch just so he can chase it again. He’s clever, quirky, and enjoys entertaining himself in little bursts of fun. Gatsby would do best in a quiet home. He doesn’t need much—just a soft place to land, a gentle hand, and someone who appreciates the quiet joy of a dog who has seen life and learned to trust again.

Adopt Gatsby and Receive Gatsby's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Gatsby's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Gatsby's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Gatsby, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Gatsby's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Gatsby was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Gatsby’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Gatsby’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Gatsby’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
