About this Dog
Adoption Fee: $600 Apricot is a 2 year old Miniature Australian Shepherd mix who is ready to be the perfect addition to your family fruit salad! Apricot was surrendered to the shelter when her former home was moving and decided they didn’t have space for her in their new home. Well, our rescuer knew that we could find her a home with an Apricot sized hole missing so we scooped her right up and away we went! She’s been smiling and making lives better since. Apricot is a rescue favorite and we know she will break hearts when she heads off. Apricot weighs around 20 pounds and has a wonderful fluffy Aussie-type coat. Apricot is a happy-go-lucky gal with a smile that brightens any room she enters. Unlike some of her breed, she is much lower energy and won’t need a marathoner as her new forever person. Apricot easily warms up to new people and loves to romp around with a wagging tail and a toy hanging out of her mouth. Apricot loves lounging on the couch and watching Bluey with her human foster sibling, even if she isn’t quite sure what to make of her animated counterparts. This girl LOVES to cuddle and would happily use your lap as a pillow if you let her. If you give her pets, she will be yours forever. Apricot is also super smart and food motivated so we know she will be the star of any training class she was enrolled in. While she loves a couch session, she also loves to play and amuses herself in the backyard for hours at a time as she chases squirrels and tracks falling leaves. She loves a Lamb Chop toy as well, though she is still working on her fetch skills. Apricot would thrive in a home where she can join a loving family. She has the sweetest spirit and such a lovely personality. She is ready to start living her best life! Apricot wakes up to snuggles and kisses around 7 AM before she heads out to go potty in the backyard. After some sniffing around the yard, she comes in for breakfast and then lounges around as she watches her foster family start their days. Her mornings are spent napping, playing with toys, and romping around with her foster sibling. She gets a small lunch meal at noon and then goes into the backyard for some sunshine and toy play. She gets a long walk in the early evening once the weather cools down a bit and loves meeting all of her neighbors. She has dinner after her romp at 6 PM before she settles down for an enrichment toy. She cuddles on the couch for a few hours as TV time happens before going out for one last potty trip. She heads to her bed for the night at around 10 PM. Apricot gets along very well with dogs of all ages and sizes. She understands the energy levels of various dogs and matches play styles. She has been polite to the resident cat. Apricot is working on her leash walking skills and would benefit from continued guidance and training. Apricot loves her crate and would happily hang out in there if needed. She is 90% house trained. Apricot is so excited to find her next adventure and she hopes it will be with you! Apricot is an option for homes who have prior dog experience, even if that experience is less recent. Kids in the home should be over the age of 7.

Adopt Apricot and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Apricot's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Apricot's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Apricot, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Apricot's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Apricot was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Apricot’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Apricot’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
