About this Dog
Kilo is fun-loving goof-ball whose cheerful, warm personality always brings a smile. Kilo and his friend Chloe lived a fairly tough life, outdoors, with their previous owner, who provided the best care he could for them for many years. But when he became very ill, he tearfully surrendered the dogs to us in order to get the care and shelter he needed for himself. Kilo gives an initial `woof` when new people approach, but softens quickly and loves to bring a stuffed toy along when he meets new friends. He has well-developed dog social skills, and has lived well with Chloe and other dogs, but he also really loves not having to share attention and resources with other dogs, so he might enjoy a home where he's the only dog. He's pretty easy to walk on leash and loves opportunities to go on sniffaries and other mellow adventures, as well as just having a little romp in a yard or on a long-line. We think this resilient guy deserves a sheltered, loving home to spend his golden years in, don't you?Now through July 19th, adoption fees are reduced to $70 thanks to the BISSEL Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelter event! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.Data Updated: This information was refreshed 50 minutes ago.
Contribute to KILO's Stash!

100% of KILO's balance will be sent to whoever adopts KILO.
Adopt KILO and Receive KILO's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, KILO's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is KILO's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the KILO, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming KILO's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and KILO was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, KILO’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the KILO’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, KILO’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
