About this Dog
Meet Akira! This malamute mix came to the Shelter as an owner surrender after her previous guardians were unable to continue caring for her. Her previous guardians described her as patient, obedient and friendly. She lived primarily outdoors in her previous home and may benefit from a home where she has access to the outdoors regularly as she prefers to lounge outside. Akira is a smart cookie and would enjoy continuing to bond with a guardian through positive reinforcement based training. She already knows âsitâ, âgive me a hugâ, and âgive me 5â so she is off to a good start. Akira enjoys going for walks and, despite being a middle aged gal, is still strong on leash. An active adopter that will take her out on adventures would be a great fit for this gal. Akira has some fears of small dogs and has not previously lived with any dogs. Akira has met dogs at the Shelter and communicates to them when she does not want to interact. A quieter home as the only dog would be the best fit for Akira. High traffic dog areas (such as West Cliff or Itâs Beach) is not the best fit for this gal as she doesnât want to comingle with other pups. Akira enjoys playing with toys â particularly squeaky toys. If you are looking for a sidekick who is more of a canine introvert â come meet Akira today!

Adopt AKIRA and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, AKIRA's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is AKIRA's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the AKIRA, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming AKIRA's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and AKIRA was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, AKIRA’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the AKIRA’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, AKIRA’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
