I foster a lot of cats & kittens but occasionally there comes a special kitty – NOT tame, sweet, or cuddly, but a more mysterious reserved special being that might be open to a relationship with a human… but on the cat’s terms; the cat’s rules… Sable is a one year old very shy, and although very used to living around humans and familiar with human households, she is not the type of cat that can be picked up and cuddled. Given time and space, kindness and safety, she could become a friend, but it will take some time. Would you be content having a reclusive, private being residing in your home? She won’t be ignoring you, she will know what you do, when you do it and where you do it. She will study you and become an expert; she may even hang out in the same room as you, she will come and touch your hand with her nose, but she does not want to be touched… It is different. You’re not alone, there is someone there to talk to, but she simply cannot handle human touch at this time. That may change with time. It is her journey… Fixed, vaccinated and microchipped. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Sabel - Kitty of Mystery was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Sabel - Kitty of Mystery’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Sabel - Kitty of Mystery’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Sabel - Kitty of Mystery’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
