07/13/25 07:35What did we do on todayâs adventure:Today was the day! Except that I had no idea what adventure awaits! I was led out thinking I would have my usual 15 mins of fun playing fetch, but instead I was getting harnessed (and going to do a 6 mile hike around the Shady Oaks Park and around a lake)! A back door of a giant SUV opened for me and there was a crate inside. Instantly I could smell adventure so I leaped up quickly and sat in the crate. I was excited but at the same time nervous as it was dark in the crate and I was moving in the car but I couldnât look out. I whined a bit but my human friends consoled me that we were arriving soon and the wait would compensate for my patience. And they werenât kidding! When the door opened, I could see and smell the green grass and nature! I jumped down and did a quick shake off to de-stress and started taking in all that summer sun and scents! I led the way (as if I knew the park, but I didnât lol) and my human friend praised me as I have good leash manners. I did not pull too much and I checked in occasionally as we walk. There were a few joggers and cyclists who zoomed past us and I didnât flinch! Oh butâ¦then I discovered there were so many squirrels! I was very interested and attempted to chase but my human friend tugged on my leash and said No and I left them alone. After awhile I let my human friend know I was thirsty and we took a few breaks. I deserved it for being an awesome sport on my first outing! I rewarded her with lots of kisses and let her cuddle and rub my butt! When it was time to leave, I was a little sad but I did not act out. I was tired but so happy I was picked to go out today. I hope I get to go again soon as I was such a happy and good boy. What should potential adopters know about me:Romeo is such a happy dog and full of energy and smiles. He got harnessed quite easily despite being excited. He did not hesitate getting into the car but was a little nervous when in a dark crate and not able to look out through the window. He did his first 6 mile walk with ease and did not bark at any joggers or cyclists or loud machinery (some road works). Although heseem excited, the walk with him was easy as he did not pull hard on the leash. He got excited seeing squirrels and will pull a bit but easily distracted with a little tug on the leash. He usually likes to play in the yard with his jolly ball and fetch, but he also does well on long walks.Three words to describe me:Happy, playful, cuddly
Contribute to ROMEO's Stash!

100% of ROMEO's balance will be sent to whoever adopts ROMEO.
Adopt ROMEO and Receive ROMEO's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, ROMEO's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is ROMEO's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the ROMEO, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming ROMEO's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and ROMEO was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, ROMEO’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the ROMEO’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, ROMEO’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
