Foster or Forever Home Wanted: Meet Buddy! Buddy is a 1-year-old yellow Labrador retriever looking for a forever family to love him unconditionally. This sweet boy has known only one home since he was just 3 weeks old, but sadly, he found himself needing a new start through no fault of his own. When his family decided to give him up because their son was heading to college, the shelter turned him away — and thankfully, Buddy became part of the Labs and Friends rescue family instead. Weighing in at a fit and strong 74+ pounds, Buddy is everything you’d expect from a happy, loving Lab. He knows some basic commands like “sit” and “down” and, with a bit of consistency, he walks nicely by your side. He is joyful, eager to please, and always ready to greet the world with a wagging tail. Buddy has spent his whole life outdoors, so life inside a home will be a new and exciting adventure for him. His new family will need to show him the ropes of indoor living — but with his gentle, trainable nature, he’ll catch on quickly. He’s fantastic with people, including kids, though he can be a bit bouncy around the little ones due to his size and energy. While Buddy hasn’t had much experience with other dogs, he shows positive interest and then moves along calmly. With a little guidance and socialization, we know he’ll grow into a confident, well-rounded companion. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Buddy (yellow) was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Buddy (yellow)’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Buddy (yellow)’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Buddy (yellow)’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
