Meet Mr. Scootch! Mr. Scootch is a 3 year-old Hound mix who weighs about 37 pounds. Mr. Scootch is a wonderful pup! His foster family lives in an apartment, and he is a great apartment dog. His hobbies include going on walks, playing with his doggie pals, and cuddling with his foster parents. He loves being beside them but is also content to lounge on his dog bed. He sleeps through the night on his foster’s bed and gets along great with his large foster fur brother. He is also great with little dogs and respectful and gentle with cats. He isn’t super interested in toys, but will play fetch and loves to chew on tasty bones. Mr. Scootch is laid-back, quiet, and calm. He will join in with the cacophony of barks from his foster brother when someone knocks on the door, but loses interest quickly. He walks well on a leash and loves to “scootch" his legs back after marking outside. If you’re looking for help landscaping, he’s your guy! When left home alone Mr. Scootch is left uncrated with his foster brother and does great. His foster family has noticed he gets anxious when crated or left home alone without doggie pals, so a home with a doggie pal or two would be ideal for Mr. Scootch. He is house-trained but will mark indoors when in a new environment. His foster family uses belly bands and is working with him to mark outside only. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Mr.Scootch was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Mr.Scootch’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Mr.Scootch’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Mr.Scootch’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
