About this Dog

I have exhausted all my possibilities. I am trying to re-home my belgian malinois named RuKus because I am unable to take care of her any longer. My husband suddenly passed away on November 30th from Stage IV Pancreatic Cancer. He was their primary care taker as I have a lot of health issues. I am 74 years old and have had fibromyalgia for almost 40 years and a blood cancer (Polycythemia). I take chemo pills, and they have side effects so I have to take each day as it comes. I am in constant pain as no medications really work for the pain I have. I actually have two dogs I'm trying to rehome, but have found a home for one already (but won't be moving in with new family until end of July). Both dogs are too large and strong for me. My children are afraid they are going to cause me to fall, which I have done many times already. I have been lucky that I haven't been seriously injured yet. For both physical and financial reasons I cannot keep the dogs even though it makes me very sad. RuKus is a female Belgian Malinois. She is young, smart, and very energetic. RuKus gets along with other people and other dogs. RuKus has had some training. She can heal, focus, sit, and stay. RuKus is very playful and sweet. She has a wonderful personality. RuKus is very playful and likes to jump on the couch and twist his body around. I call her a pretzel. She is lovable, protective, sweet and loves to be petted. RuKus is spayed, current on her vaccinations, and is chipped through HomeAgain. No medical issues - very healthy. She is about 65 lbs and approx 2 years old. She is super loving and friendly. Gets along with other dogs and children.

Adopt RuKus and Receive RuKus's Fund

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, RuKus's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

How will RuKus receive the contribution?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the RuKus, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming RuKus's contribution here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and RuKus was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, RuKus’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the RuKus’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, RuKus’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
