True to his name, Rider hitched a ride in the wheel well of an electric car—no one knows where or when he hopped in, but he eventually turned up in a kind woman’s garage after she’d run errands all over town! After being safely trapped and fostered by a dedicated LapCats volunteer, Rider needed a little time to decompress from his wild journey. He’s blossoming into a loving, curious kitten with a loud, joyful purr and a love for life. Rider is still coming out of his shell and would thrive in a calm, patient home that gives him the space and encouragement to build confidence at his own pace. Once he feels secure, you’ll find a sweet, snuggly boy who loves to play with wand toys, balls, stuffed mice—basically anything he can chase or pounce on! ? Dog-friendly ? Loves other cats ? Affectionate and playful ? Snuggle expert in training Rider would especially enjoy having another kitten or cat pal to wrestle and cuddle with. If you’re ready to welcome a brave little traveler with a big heart into your home, Rider is ready to ride into your life! ?? The first step in our adoption process is the application which can be found on our website lapcats.org. All of our cats have tested negative for FELV and are fully vaccinated. They have not only been spayed or neutered but have also been treated for worms, fleas, and have been micro chipped. We will register their microchip for you, provide you with a free exam visit to a participating Sacramento veterinarian, and a goodie bag! We do not do out of state adoptions for the safety of our cats.

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Rider's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Rider was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Rider’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Rider’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Rider’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
