Meet Zeus! Zeus came to us from Desert Hot Springs Shelter on December 6th. He is about 12 years old and weighs 41 lbs. Zeus is so sweet and friendly. As you can see in the video, he loves to be petted and cuddled! Zeus enjoys going on our weekly FFF hikes. He walks slowly and steadily by your side or slightly behind you with no pulling. He takes treats ever so gently. Zeus is friendly to every person and dog he encounters on the trail. Zeus is currently on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we can learn what he is like in a home setting. We've learned that Zeus is being the perfect houseguest! He gets along well with his Fling Family's 90 lb. dog, sleeps through the night, and hasn't had any accidents. Zeus enjoys hanging out in a big, comfy dog bed and appreciates a snuggle blanket. He likes going for walks around the neighborhood and has zero reaction to children, barking dogs, or anything else along the way. Zero is cool as a cucumber! He is a wonderful, laid back, loving companion. Zeus' Fling Mom shares: "Zeus has been with us for two weeks, and just this past week we have crossed many milestones…lots of tail wags, two meals a day of dog food, roll overs for belly rubs, and longer walks! Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Zeus's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Zeus was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Zeus’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Zeus’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Zeus’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
