About this Dog
*This is a courtesy listing.* Meet Derby! Derby is beautiful 11 year old brindle Pitbull that weighs about 45 pounds. She needs someone who can work with her anxiety, give her the space she needs, and will set her up for success. She's had a pretty tough life, and will be absolutely loyal to her person. Deep down, she is an absolutely sweetheart with many good years left in her, and she needs a quiet home where she will be the center of attention. Derby came to us about 11 months ago when her owner became homeless. We agreed to emergency foster her temporarily but have since learned that original owner has no way to take care of her in any significant way. Derby is a shy, anxious dog until you get to know her. Once she warms up to you, she is sweet and playful. She is easy to walk on a leash and loves nothing more than to be out and about a couple of times a day. She wants nothing more than to hang with her human all day. She both needs and deserves a home in which she is the only dog with a savvy owner who understands how to read her and set her up for success. The world is a little scary for her, and she needs someone who will give her the safety and space to be the best version of herself. Derby loves, loves, loves meal time! She does little happy dances when you bring her the meal. She is completely potty trained and will let you know when she has to go out. Like many seniors, Derby has arthritis, especially in her knees. However, despite the arthritis, she moves extremely well and has no problem jumping on and off things. When out on walks, she is a brisk mover. She loves her walks! And while she is reactive to other dogs when walking, her reactivity is fairly easy to control. Derby's ideal home would be calm and quiet, with adults only (or older children.) She is more comfortable with women than men. She needs a patient family willing to give her plenty of space until she chooses to approach on her own volition. Derby thrives on predictable routine. Adopt Derby and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Derby's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is Derby's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Derby, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Derby's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Derby was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Derby’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

We want the Derby’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Derby’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
