About this Dog

I need help finding my dog Chica a safe sanctuary/home or I have to surrender her to a shelter in a couple weeks. I adopted Chica when she was four months old and we’ve been attached at the hip ever since. She likes playing with the smaller dogs, going on walks and camping. She paddleboards with me and behaves great on the road. She is great on a leash and sits before we cross the street. She is loyal, playful, stubborn, and intelligent. She likes fetching her favorite toys in the backyard. Knows basic commands; sit, stay, shake, down, leave it and drop it. She listens very well on leash and listens some of the time off leash. She passed her Obedience Training with ease. She does really well with a second dog to play with and to burn off extra energy. She enjoys BBQ’s and Corn-hole games in the backyard with my friends. Chica is the size of a GS puppy and does best around dogs her size or smaller. She gets anxious and is protective around the backyard and the fence. I comfort her and rub her belly until she settles down. Unfortunately, there was an incident with her biting my roommate. I consulted with a dog training specialist and she believes Chica could get help through behavioral training. I’ve tried various things. I no longer have the time or skills to give her the proper training she needs. After long discussions, I had to make a tough decision to rehome/surrender her. I am very saddened and heartbroken. She loves playing in the dog park twice a week and is friendly with people in public. We stretch together every morning and she goes on the treadmill with me. My main goal is to find her a happy and balanced home-life. She deserves a second chance. Chica is a 4 ½ year old spayed female German Shepherd mix (~45 lbs.). She is licensed and micro-chipped. She is 100% housetrained with no other pets in the home. Her blood work and overall health is normal. Annual exam and vaccinations are current since April 2025. You may contact me any time of day. I will travel to find the best place for Chica. Let me know if you have any questions.

How will Chica receive the contribution?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Chica, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Chica's contribution here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Chica was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Chica’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Chica’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Chica’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
