About this Dog
My mom loves her two 16 year old Shiatzu sisters dearly but due to serious health reasons (she's 86) she can no longer care for the the beloved dogs. The dogs are blind and frail. It's heartbreaking to see my mom exhaust herself to give them her best possible care. She has admitted that she can no longer give them the care they require and has given them to me and asked me to surrender them to a loving shelter in hopes that someone younger might want to adopt them. We are hoping they could spend their last years of life with someone that loves senior dogs and has room in their heart and home. I promised her that I would take them to a place where they would try to home them this week. If we cannot find a no kill shelter, then we will have no option but to surrender them elsewhere. Wednesday, 7/23, is our deadline as my mom's own health must now come before the dogs. She has always put the dogs first. Now, she must come first. Thank you for your kindness. My mom is a incredible and loving woman.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Yumi was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Yumi’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Yumi’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Yumi’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
