About this Cat
My name is Officer Michaela—but don’t worry, I’m not here to issue any citations... unless it's for not giving enough chin scritches. I’m a white and calico mix with silky-soft fur and a big ol’ heart-shaped marking on my back—because I wear my love literally on my sleeve (or, uh, spine?). I was rescued from under a burning car during the ICE protests in downtown LA (yes, the burning car—what can I say, I have a flair for the dramatic). A kind officer saved me, and I’ve been honoring him ever since with my name and my ridiculously good looks. After surviving flash bangs, tear gas, and the general chaos of street life, I’m understandably a little timid with loud noises and new places. But once I know I’m safe, I turn into a cuddle bug with a purr loud enough to rival a leaf blower. I love batting plastic coils, chasing rattly balls, and showing toy mice who's boss. I’m also litter box certified, thank you very much. If you’re patient, kind, and don’t mind sharing your cat tree (okay fine, my cat tree), I’d love to meet you. Fill out an application at dreamar.org and come see if I’m the brave little furball your heart’s been waiting for. With purrs, Officer Michaela (Reporting for snuggle duty)

Adopt Officer Michaela and Receive Officer Michaela's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Officer Michaela's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Officer Michaela's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Officer Michaela, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Officer Michaela's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Officer Michaela was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Officer Michaela’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Officer Michaela’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Officer Michaela’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
