About this Dog
Lucy is a 5 year old terrier mix who has had quite a life already and is ready for a truly loving and stable forever home! She was adopted from a shelter, then suspect hit by a car, then sent off to a horrific rescue, seized by animal control, and finally ended up with our rescue and in a loving foster home that has completed extensive vet care and rehab work to get her to the healthy point she is now! She marches to her own beat (literally). Total lap dog but also appreciates her alone time. Good with other dogs but we think she might be better as an only dog. She’s also still learning how to be a dog and how to socialize/play. So easygoing and calm. Go with the flow. Unbothered by loud noises or other dogs barking. Does get carsick sometimes. Doesn’t mind baths, nail clippings, wearing clothes, being held, etc. She urinates on her own and has some control on holding it or only going when outside. But needs patience on potty walks because they can take a while and/or needs a little expressing to completely empty out. She kind of sprinkles here and there. Good eater. And likes most treats. She is so gentle now when taking treats from human hand. Good on leash. Still good with 45-60 minute walks. LOVES dog toys. Loyal to her humans. For example, she seems to prefer me and will follow me everywhere while at home. But in new or uncomfortable situations (like therapy) she looks for comfort from both of us since we’re the familiar people to her. If you’re looking for the perfect companion, Lucy is your girl!

Adopt Lucy and Receive Lucy's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Lucy's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Lucy's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Lucy, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Lucy's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Lucy was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Lucy’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Lucy’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Lucy’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
