About this Cat

Just a few weeks ago, Suki was living outside, abandoned and forgotten, sitting on the cold concrete porch of a home that no longer belonged to her. Her elderly guardian had been moved to a care facility, and Suki was left behind, alone, thin, and trembling, with no one to love her or feed her. But even in her most fragile state, Suki never stopped showing her gentle heart. When I first approached her, I expected her to run, but instead, she looked up at me with tired eyes and walked toward me, brushing against my legs, purring faintly as if to say, “Thank you for seeing me.” That was the moment I knew Suki still had so much hope left. I brought her into my home to keep her safe, fed her, cared for her, and took her to the vet. She had fleas, worms, and some muscle weakness from likely malnourishment, yet not once did she complain. She let the vet examine her, take blood, give her shots, all without a hiss or scratch. She was scared, but she trusted. That’s who Suki is, brave, sweet, and full of grace. Now, Suki is eating well, and even beginning to play. She wobbles a little when she walks, probably from everything she’s endured, but when she runs after a ribbon, you can see the kitten inside her waking up again. She purrs when I pet her, she chirps when she sees me, she rubs her face against mine like she’s saying, “I’m ready to love again.” Suki deserves a quiet, loving home where she can be someone’s one and only. She’s been through so much and never gave up. I truly believe she’s alive because she knew someone was coming for her, someone kind and gentle, just like her.

How will Suki receive the contribution?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Suki, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Suki's contribution here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Suki was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Suki’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Suki’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Suki’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
