Meet Vixen Breed: Australian Kelpie Date of Birth: September 11, 2024 ⚖️ Weight: 50 pounds Spayed & Healthy Intake Date: November 10, 2024 Vixen is a happy, playful girl bursting with energy and personality. She loves to stay active, explore the world around her, and bond with people. This smart girl is currently in training through the Paws to Prison Program at Corcoran Prison, where she’s learning from dedicated inmate handlers. She’s working on basic commands like sit, stay, and leash walking, helping her become a confident, well-mannered companion. This program also builds trust, discipline, and emotional connection—giving Vixen the foundation she needs to succeed in a forever home. Breed Information Australian Kelpies are highly intelligent, loyal, and hardworking dogs originally bred for herding. They’re quick learners, thrive on mental stimulation, and love to stay busy. Vixen will do best in a home where she has a job to do—whether it’s daily walks, puzzle toys, agility, or learning new tricks. She’s the kind of dog who wants to be your active and devoted partner. Owner Responsibilities Welcoming Vixen into your life means: Providing daily exercise and mental enrichment Continuing positive training and consistent routines Offering plenty of love, attention, and patience Making regular vet visits and keeping up with her health needs Keeping her safe, indoors, and part of the family Things to Consider Before adopting Vixen, ask yourself: Do you have time and energy to match her active lifestyle? Are you ready for a smart, high-drive breed that needs daily engagement? Does your home (or landlord) allow dogs? Are you committed to lifelong care and training? A Commitment for Life Vixen is not to be leashed or chained outside—she needs to live indoors, surrounded by care, structure, and companionship. She’s not just a pet—she’s a lifelong friend. If you’re looking for a bright, energetic, and loyal companion, Vixen is ready to be by your side every step of the way. ❤️ If you are interested in adopting this amazing dog, please follow the link https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions and fill out an application Thank you for choosing Ozzie and Friends Rescue. Adopt Vixen and Receive Vixen's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Vixen's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Vixen's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Vixen, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Vixen's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Vixen was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Vixen’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Vixen’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Vixen’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
