About this Dog
Meet Peter – The Sweetest Gentleman Around Peter is an 8–10-year-old Boston Terrier with long legs, a calm soul, and a heart full of love. This sweet senior boy was found dodging traffic in downtown Long Beach, clearly lost and in need of help. Thankfully, a kind-hearted Good Samaritan scooped him up before he was hurt. She searched high and low for an owner, but it turns out Peter had been seen around local homeless encampments and had likely been living as a stray. Sadly, he had been hit by a car and was limping on his front right leg. With no microchip and no one coming forward, she reached out to Boston Buddies—and we stepped in to give Peter the second chance he deserves. Despite everything he’s been through, Peter has the gentlest disposition. He’s incredibly sweet, easy-going, and always polite. He’s house-trained, well-mannered, and gets along beautifully with people of all ages and other dogs—he even shares a bed with his foster sibling, Gracie. Peter’s happy just being near his humans and has a soft spot for an early dinner and a cozy bed. Peter has some special needs due to his age and past life on the streets. He had to have his left eye removed due to an ulcer and high pressure, but he’s now pain-free and doing much better. His remaining eye has very limited vision due to retinal degeneration, but he still navigates the house confidently and follows his foster mom around without bumping into things. He receives eye drops and lubricants daily—and he’s a champ about getting them! He does have a noticeable limp and some unsteadiness in his back legs. He can’t manage stairs or slippery floors, but carpet runners have helped him get around more safely. Because he needs to be carried up and down stairs, his foster mom (who adores him!) is hoping Peter finds a forever home that’s better suited to his mobility needs. Everyone who meets Peter uses the same word to describe him: sweet. This dear boy has clearly known love before, and he’s ready to know it again. He’s not the least bit of trouble and asks for very little—just kindness, a soft place to rest, and someone to love him as much as he’ll love you in return. Adopt Peter and Receive Peter's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Peter's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Peter's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Peter, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Peter's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Peter was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Peter’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Peter’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Peter’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
