About this Cat
Tux is a dashing gentleman with golden eyes, dramatic polydactyl paws, and big canine teeth that give him a hint of a fangy smile. His left foot boasts seven toes, his right has six—making him a total standout both in looks and in charm. Originally rescued as part of a TNR effort (note the ear tip!), it didn’t take long for his independent rescuer to realize Tux had too much potential to remain outdoors. Since joining us in February 2025, he’s made steady progress from being a cautious newcomer to a curious, engaged member of the community room. While still a bit reserved with new people, Tux warms up with gentle, consistent interaction. He enjoys pets and brushing, and while he doesn’t purr during just yet, it’s obvious he’s enjoying the affection. Tux will often greet familiar faces with the cutest chirps—especially when dinner is on its way. He’s not a fan of being leaned over, hugged, or picked up, but he’s an excellent communicator and shows his boundaries clearly and gently. Tux is playful in his own quirky way—he’s now a big fan of wand toys, especially when he can launch stealth attacks from inside a cat tunnel. Ping pong balls and toy mice are still fair game too, and his oversized paws make him an all-star at solo play. He’s shown himself to be adaptable with other cats, often adjusting to new feline roommates within a week. Tux doesn’t seek drama—when he’s overwhelmed, he simply finds a high perch to regroup. With slow introductions, he definitely has the capacity for a feline friendship. Tux is looking for a home that understands the value of patience and low-pressure companionship. In return, you’ll get a uniquely handsome cat with a quiet presence, a growing confidence, and plenty of personality. * Available in Shelter for Meet & Greet *

Adopt Tux and Receive Tux's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Tux's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Tux's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Tux, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Tux's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Tux was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Tux’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Tux’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Tux’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
