About this Dog
I need a (foster) forever home for a female dog we rescued from TJ 3-4 weeks ago. We believe she is the mom of a puppy we rescued a month earlier. “Mamma dog”, aka Negra/Negrita, has been living in the streets for 6 -7 yrs. and being a puppy machine. She is super sweet and friendly, and no human is a stranger to her. Friends in TJ spent time feeding her and gave her shelter as needed at their shop. They know of her being hit by a woman with a piece of board from time to time. I had her spayed, including Pyometra surgery, vaccinated and blood tested. She also has been given flea and tick medicine. Since I do dog boarding and rescue’ and have dogs of my own with special needs: blind, deaf, senior, Cushing’s etc. All my dogs are 25 lbs. or less; this has been a bit of an issue. My original foster/adoptive home fell through, and I was not going to dump her back in the streets of TJ. Negrita is 73 lbs. and when she wants to play, she comes with full force, stronger than a Mack truck. I can’t have that since I have to separate her in the office for long periods of time. I am hesitant to have her adopted privately because of her breed, unless is someone trustworthy. Negrita deserves better. I think she is Lab/Staffie mix. She is house broken and adapts well to her routines, very street smart and always wants to please. I will provide her food for 2 months, a large bed, blankets, toys, treats and medications needed. I am not seeking any re-imbursement; your rescue can keep her rehoming fee hoping to ensure she does not fall in the wrong hands. I just want her to be happy and find a good home. Maybe a single dog home will be best or 1 dog her size. She has to be taught how to play with other dogs her size. She plays very well with her puppy and loves to run in the yard and do zoomies around the plants. I had a rescuer do a “meet and greet” and she stated that Mamma dog does not “speak dog”. That she needs slow introduction and a little training. She is such a people pleaser that she can do it, but needs someone that can show her how, with large breed dog savviness.
