Sweeny came into our care in mid-September of this year from El Centro Animal Control. The Animal Control Officer told us that they had picked her up several times before, but this last time she was not claimed by her owner. During the three months Sweeny has been in our care we have learned that she has a calm and sweet demeanor. Although she is a Husky and she does get along with other dogs, we have noticed that she prefers to be around other dogs that match temperament. Sweeny also does very well on a leash, and she loves to be around people and craves love and attention from them.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Sweeny was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Sweeny’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Sweeny’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Sweeny’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
