About this Dog
**We cannot guarantee that Luna is allergy-friendly just because she doesn't shed.** Don't let her resting grumpy face fool you, Luna is one sweet girl! Luna is estimated to be around 6 years old, and she is a sweet, affectionate little lady who loves toys and her daily walks! She has the perfect amount of energy for someone who wants a lap dog, but also wants a buddy to explore the neighborhood with and convince them to go outside at least once a day. Luna is fully grown and weighs about 12lbs. Luna was found as a stray and brought to a local shelter. A family never came forward for her, and she was so scared at the shelter, so we wasted no time to scoop her up and place her in a YCSPCA foster home. She has been thriving in foster care and is so ready for a fresh start with her forever family. Luna has the serious little face typical of a Shih Tzu, but is a fun-loving girl who loves to follow her foster mom around and get lots of attention. She’s very energetic and not only loves walks, but also likes to jump up on the roof of one of her foster mom’s doghouses, like Snoopy, to get a better view around the backyard. At least part of the day, you can find Luna snoozing in one of the two full toy boxes at her foster home - did we mention she loves toys? Luna has been in a home with other small dogs, but she seems like she might prefer to be the princess of the house. She may do well with a small, mellow male dog. We haven't seen Luna around cats, but she might do well with dog-savvy cats with a slow introduction and proper supervision. Luna has done well meeting kids and could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older. Luna appears to be housetrained and has been doing well sleeping in a crate overnight and while her foster mom is away. She has made it known that she would very much want to sleep in bed with you if you'd let her. Luna doesn't seem to have been taught things like sit and down, but she is an easy and well-mannered girl who could be a great first dog for someone looking for a fun-loving buddy. With proper exercise, she may do well living in an apartment. Luna has fur that grows like hair, and it requires regular brushing and routine professional grooming to keep it well-maintained and not get matted. Her new family should be prepared to take on this extra care and the costs of grooming. Luna is such an amazing little girl and deserves a family just as great as her. If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today! Luna's adoption fee is $350. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Adopt Luna and Receive Luna's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Luna's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Luna's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Luna, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Luna's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Luna was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Luna’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Luna’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Luna’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
