About this Dog
Handsome Joey can't wait to steal your heart! Joey is about 2-3 months old and is part of our Outback Litter of Australian Cattle Dog mixes. He is the largest of the litter and has all the zest that you expect from a heeler. He is a loyal and smart boy who is looking for an active family who can keep up with his busy mind and body. Roo currently weighs about 10lbs, and we estimate he will be around 45-50lbs when fully grown. Joey came to us as part of a litter of puppies that were surrendered by their owners. The owners had two intact dogs, but didn't plan on having a litter of puppies. Mom is getting spayed, so no more puppies for her! The puppies have all been doing great in foster care and are looking for individual homes so they can get the one-on-one training they need. Joey is the handsome heart-stealer of the group. He's the only one of the litter that got their dad's blue heeler coloring, and he is not afraid to use his good looks to charm you into giving him extra treats. He is all about play and snack time and is always front and center when tasty treats are involved. He would love a family who can take him on lots of adventures, as he is a curious guy who loves to make new friends. Joey is still learning all of his basic manners, so his new family will need to be dedicated to continuing his training and socialization to help him be the best boy he can be. Joey has done well with other dogs and could be a great active sibling for a pup who needs a wrestling buddy. He could also do well as an only dog with lots of opportunities to play with dog friends. Joey has been in a foster home with a cat and could do well in a forever home with dog-savvy cats. Joey could be a great addition to a family with kids 10 years and older. Joey is still working on his housetraining, but has been doing great about holding it through the night and pottying outside with frequent trips out. His new family will need to be patient with him while he is learning and expect to work with him to help him succeed. Joey has been doing well being left in a pen with his brother while his foster family is away for short periods during the day and overnight. However, he has learned how to climb out of the pen, so he would do best being transitioned to being in a crate. He has never been truly alone, so he will need a family who can slowly acclimate him to being home alone. Joey is such an amazing little guy, and he can't wait to start his life with his forever family! If you think that might be you, submit an adoption application today! Joey's adoption fee is $350. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption. Adopt Joey and Receive Joey's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Joey's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Joey's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Joey, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Joey's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Joey was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Joey’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Joey’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Joey’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
