About this Dog

Violet clearly needs a helping hand as she is definitely a dog that was literally left behind! I have a rental property that a renter moved out on 6/30/25. When I went into the property for a final walkthrough, the renter had left behind, in a crate without food/water, her cane corso, Violet. This beautiful dog was already neglected and skinny. The last contact I have had with the owner was 7/5/25; she is not responding to text messages or phone calls. Our shelter in Stanislaus County is experiencing a serious virus/illness outbreak and has not been doing any intakes for the past several weeks, so Violet remains with me, but I cannot continue to care for her. My personal dogs are not dog friendly and it’s a constant juggling act! Violet is an amazing girl! She is about 1.5 years old, she is house trained, crate trained, walks fairly well on leash, food oriented, knows “sit”, rides great in the car, has lived successfully with other dogs (my dogs are the issue not Violet), but she will chase feral cats. She is shy of strangers initially but a complete love bug when you get to know her and a good guard dog. Violet needs a better outcome! She only wants to be with people and to be loved. Can you take her into your rescue and help her? I can send pictures, videos and transport this sweet girl. I live in Crows Landing, off the I5, about 30 minutes south of Livermore. My email is [email protected] or phone is (510)219-9853. Even if you cannot help, please send a quick note so I can move on and cross this rescue off my list. Thanks for considering helping Violet!

Adopt Violet and Receive Violet's Fund

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Violet's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

How will Violet receive the contribution?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Violet, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Violet's contribution here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Violet was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Violet’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Violet’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Violet’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
