About this Cat
Zephyr is ~17 years old. He and his sister were adopted by a local family as kittens. About 8 years ago (?), after several house moves, Zephyr was apparently very stressed out and started spraying around the house. The family put him outside and he became a "community cat." He was cared for by another neighbor for 3 years, but that person moved away last fall and left Zephyr behind. He's decided I'm his person, and although I love him dearly and have been taking care of him, I can't keep him and want to find him a loving home. He's been spending 10-12 hours a day with me and has never sprayed — he's very polite and tells me when he wants to go outside (but he'd like to be an inside cat with a litter box again). His shots are up to date. Zephyr will be happiest in a calm, peaceful household with no other cats, although dogs would probably be ok. Stairs aren't great, as he has some arthritis. He loves cuddles and pets and scratches behind the ears and under the chin and purrs like a jet engine when he's content, which is often when he has what he needs. He'll also be quite vocal when he wants attention. He loves his cardboard scratcher toys and never scratches the furniture as long as he has them, and he loves his catnip pickle. Just give him a lot of love and he'll be your best friend.

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Zephyr's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Zephyr was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Zephyr’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
