About this Dog
He's sweet. He's teeny. He's adorable. He's a fan of ear rubs. He's friendly but not overly friendly. He likes to play with toys and have carefree time. He also has clear boundaries. He doesn't like having his face messed with much. He has some resource guarding issues.Captain was relinquished to our shelter, because his former owner could no longer care for him or afford vet care. He wasnât in the best shape when he arrived. He had infected teeth, ear infections, and other issues, including skin problems. Our medical team and kennel staff fixed him up and he stayed here to heal and recuperate. Being a senior, no doubt heâll need continued care, but hopefully we got him through the worst of it. Captain is a sweet boy, who just wants a comfortable, semi quiet, permanent, home. He should go to an adult home with no small kids, and he tends to get cranky around other dogs. He would prefer the lap of a low active, kind, adopter who really only wants one dog to love on.Heâs a snuggle bug for sure and he loves to nap and be petted as he doses off. Please ask one of the staff or volunteers for specifics, if you think you are a good match.

100% of CAPTAIN's balance will be sent to whoever adopts CAPTAIN.
Adopt CAPTAIN and Receive CAPTAIN's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, CAPTAIN's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is CAPTAIN's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the CAPTAIN, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming CAPTAIN's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and CAPTAIN was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, CAPTAIN’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the CAPTAIN’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, CAPTAIN’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
