About this Dog
Nelly is a velveteen dog - so soft to the touch and such a deep and luxurious shade of gray it's calming just to gaze at her. One of our longest residents, she is still shy with new people but the bashfulness passes. Spend a little time with her and bribe her with treats, and she will wholeheartedly accept your friendship. * 3 years old * 76 lbs * Very affectionate once bonded * Loves tug of war and fetch * Hilarious zoomies * Knows how to `leave it` * Gets along with other dogs * Housebroken * Food motivated and easy to train * Easy to handle * Probably no kids HERE'S WHAT HER FOSTER MOM SAID: `I fell in love with Nelly. Of course I did! Because she made it so easy. It took her a second to open up, which I was expecting. But all she needed were some yummy treats and some love. And the love she gives back to you is quite endless. She'll greet you with a big hug the moment you get home. She'll rest her head on you once you both start to get tired. You might occasionally have to coax her to play, but she commits to the game once you do. Nelly loves tug of war, and in our small apartment she would still somehow make a game of fetch. She was quite timid and shy at first with new people [who came over], but once she gets a sense of their smell and that they are a person that you trust, she begins to open up to them, too. Nelly gives cute little kisses and provides you with a comfortable presence. I will say this girl has some sass in terms of where she wants to go when walking⦠she might sit and toss her head saying 'no I want to go this way.' It's pretty cute. And again, with patience and some coaxing she listens. She is house trained and will communicate when she needs to go outside. `Nelly is a wonderful dog. It might take a 'second' for her to open up, but that is only because she believes she has to guard herself for quite some time. If you give her a chance, she will become your adventure buddy, your cuddle buddy, and your genuine and loyal friend for life.` Nelly has been at FAAS for more than a year. She deserves a forever home of her own! Come meet this great girl any afternoon but Monday at 1590 Fortmann Way in Alameda.

Adopt NELLY and Receive Dogecoin
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, NELLY's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).
0.0 DOGE is NELLY's current Dogecoin balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the NELLY, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming NELLY's Dogecoin here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and NELLY was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, NELLY’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
"The fun and friendly internet currency."

We want the NELLY’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, NELLY’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
