About this Dog
Meet Onyx 🐾
Hi, I’m Onyx! I’m 6 years old and looking for a loving forever home. I’m a big cuddle bug who loves walks, rolling in the grass, and getting treats. I know how to sit, shake, twirl, and lay down for a treat! And yes, I am a little bit of a diva when it rains—I’d rather wait to potty! I love meeting boy dogs and do best with dogs around my size. I can be very energetic, so I need someone strong and confident on the leash. I have only lived with other dogs. I would do best with older children. Small children pulling my fur or ears can make me growl. This is situational, reactive behavior, so I should always be supervised around children. I also need a calm home. Yelling and arguing can cause me anxiety, leading to barking and destructive behavior. I need someone patient who will help me feel safe. I have eczema/dry skin that makes me itchy and need proper veterinary care, as home remedies are no longer helping. My current vaccination status is unknown. I am used to sleeping in bed with my primary owner but will sleep in my own spot with a sturdy dog bed (non tearable) or blanket. If you think you could be the right forever home for me, please call 479-268-0672.

Adopt Onyx and Receive Onyx's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Onyx's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.

How will Onyx receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Onyx, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Onyx's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Onyx was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Onyx’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Onyx’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Onyx’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
