About this Dog
6/16/25 Don Quixote, and his brother, Sancho Panza, were strays and taken to a shelter. Unfortunately, their time was up at the shelter and they were going to be euthanized for space. Thankfully, we had spots open at the Arkansas Paws in Prison program, so we were able to take them into our rescue and place them at Paws in Prison! We will continue to update this post as we receive more details and info on Don and how his training is going. He began at Paws in Prison on 6/9/25 so he will graduate the week of August 4th. We hope to have a home ready and waiting for him at that time! Paws in prison is an amazing program where dogs are paired with inmates whom they are with 24/7 for 8 weeks. The inmates work with the dogs everyday on basic training, basic obedience, house training, leash training, etc. and even some tricks! They meet weekly with a certified dog trainer. This is a wonderful program and so beneficial for the dogs and the inmates! Don is a good boy who is very food motivated and eager to learn, so training should come along nicely. He is very friendly and great with other dogs. So far, Paws in Prison has said that he is friendly, outgoing, and loves other dogs. He has an adorable face and a white tipped tail! He does have some of the typical young pup behaviors like jumping for attention, etc. Paws in Prison will work with him on this. He is young, about 7 months old. We do not know his breed but we believe he may be a Pointer mix. He currently weighs about 40 pounds. He is heartworm negative, microchipped, neutered, and UTD on vaccinations. Located in Arkansas, but transport is available. Adopter must be able to pick up or arrange for someone to pick up for them at one of the following times/locations. Harrisburg, PA 2am Fridays Port Jervis, NY 5am Fridays Southington, CT 8am Fridays East Hartford, CT 11am Fridays To apply, please fill out the adoption app: https://form.jotform.com/212690945239059 email [email protected] with any questions.

100% of Don Quixote's balance will be sent to whoever adopts Don Quixote.
Adopt Don Quixote and Receive Don Quixote's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Don Quixote's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Don Quixote's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Don Quixote, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Don Quixote's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Don Quixote was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Don Quixote’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Don Quixote’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Don Quixote’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
