About this Cat
I rescued Turis about three years ago from my previous workplace, where she had been living around the building and we regularly fed her. Unfortunately, my former employers did not want her there and there were attempts to poison her, so we trapped her and took her to Pima Animal Care Center, where she received her vaccinations and was spayed. Because it was no longer safe to release her back to that location, I decided to give her a chance and brought her into my home. She has never fully acclimated to being domesticated and does not tolerate my three dogs, so I converted a spare bedroom into her own room, where she has lived safely for the past three years. She is comfortable approaching me for food and care, but I have never been able to hold or handle her. From my experience, she does seem to be comfortable around other cats. Unfortunately, my home recently suffered significant water damage, including a collapsed ceiling in the room where she stays, and there are now microbial/mold concerns. I have to temporarily move out while my home is repaired, and I cannot safely or realistically take her with me because I will not have a separate room for her and she cannot be around my dogs. I am hoping to find her a safe, appropriate shelter or placement where she can have her own space and, ideally, the opportunity to be around other cats. I love her and have cared for her for three years, so my goal is to find the safest and best environment possible for her.

How will Turis receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Turis, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Turis's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Turis was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Turis’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the Turis’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Turis’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
