About this Dog
Gentle sweetheart, very smart, loves people and dogs! Ziggy is obedient and eager to please. He appears to be fully grown and has blossomed beautifully in his foster home. He is great on leash and LOVES to play with other friendly, active dogs. Ziggy's build is more compact than a typical Labrador Retriever, and lighter on his feet. He is easy to brush and is a quick learner who's full of fun. He has the sweetest disposition! Although he enjoys standing up on his hind legs, he is very good about keeping four paws on the floor. Ziggy is pure joy, a kind-hearted dog who is happy and politely enthusiastic. Given the training he has received in his foster home, Ziggy wants MORE THAN EVER to please! He thrives on attention and is food-motivated. He sometimes "talks" when he is very excited, but is not an incessant barker. Ziggy absolutely absolutely loves his foster sisters, who are hearty playmates. He rests peacefully when it is naptime, or when enjoying a chew toy. How this amazing dog has not found his forever home is A TOTAL MYSTERY! Ziggy MUST HAVE an attached, private yard. A home with a friendly, playful dog who weighs at least 45 lbs will help him keep happy and fit. He would like active kids but can easily do "dog playtime" when they are at school. Ziggy runs fast and sometimes stands upright like a bear. He enjoys chasing toys and while we initially said "no small dogs" and "no small kids" he is proving to be pretty bomb-proof around a variety of dogs and humas. He is non-reactive and lovely manners. Ziggy will be placed in the Phoenix metro area, for proximity to our rescue (home checks, follow up visits, visit to finalize adoption) and for access to our veterinarian. Our adoptions begin with a Foster-To-Adopt period, which is not feasible with remote placements. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and ZIGGY was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, ZIGGY’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the ZIGGY’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, ZIGGY’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
