Mikey is healing from extreme neglect and starvation. He has spent weeks in emergency respite care and is ready for a Medical Foster home that will allow him to rest and relax. NO leash walking or outings and very small yard would be ideal as he is house trained but must not run, play, or pull on leash (diagnostics underway for a pain issue.) Mikey is DARN NEAR PERFECT. If he is not perfect, we haven't discovered the flaw! He is a gentle giant, a calm and patient soul who only occasionally barks but is not boisterous or insistent. Mikey is rotating between a couple of quiet homes where he has been a beautifully behaved houseguest. It's summer and most people have plans to be away, so i f you can help in the rotation, please visit the FOSTER page on our website https://betterdaysrescue.org/ where you'll find details about Mikey as well as a link to our Foster Application. Mikey will be placed in the Phoenix metro area, for proximity to our rescue (home checks, follow up visits, visit to finalize adoption) and for access to our veterinarian. Once availabe, adoption begins with a Foster-To-Adopt period, which is not feasible with remote placements. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and MIKEY **Sponsorship/Med. Foster ONLY** was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, MIKEY **Sponsorship/Med. Foster ONLY**’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the MIKEY **Sponsorship/Med. Foster ONLY**’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, MIKEY **Sponsorship/Med. Foster ONLY**’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
