About this Dog
🐾 Looking to Rehome Our Puppy 🐾
We’re making the difficult decision to find a new home for our “puppy”. He was born October 13 and is a Lab/Shepherd mix. He is UPD on vaccines and is fixed.
Axl is a friendly, playful dog with A LOT of energy and personality. He enjoys being around people but is also fairly independent and often prefers doing his own thing, unless food is involved. He does experience some separation anxiety, but is mostly just very talkative.
Unfortunately, he doesn’t always understand boundaries and is constantly trying to play with our older dog. He obviously doesn’t know his size and can become very overwhelming. -He is still very much a puppy—very energetic, excitable, and a big chewer.
He will need continued training, structure, and plenty of exercise. We haven’t seen any signs of aggression, and he may do fine in a home with cats, as we do have them, but he does try to play with them too. We want to be transparent so potential adopters can make an informed decision.
Because of his size, energy level, and tendency to get excited, we feel he would do best in a home with older children who are comfortable around large, active dogs.
This is not a decision we’ve made lightly. We care about him and want to find a home where he can thrive and get the time, attention, and training he needs.
I never thought I’d have to make a decision like this, but after 7 long months of trying to accept this dog into our pack, and teach him to be incorporated into our lively hood, I now understand when people say “they don’t have the time.” With our kids involved in sports and our EXTREMELY busy work schedule, we’ve thought about this and prayed on it, and this is what’s interest for Axl.
If you’re interested, please send me a message and tell me a little about yourself, your family, any other pets, and the type of home you can provide.
We are asking a rehoming fee. I’ll send him with whatever food he has, his kennel, any toys or treats he has, and of course his collar and leashes.

Adopt AXL and Receive AXL's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, AXL's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0 is AXL's current balance
How will AXL receive the contribution?
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the AXL, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming AXL's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and AXL was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, AXL’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
What happens to unclaimed funds?
We want the AXL’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, AXL’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
