Hi! I am Merlot. I am a silly pup that LOVES playing ball and getting belly rubs! I am a loving girl who needs to be the only pet. I was really happy when my family got a kitten and kept my boundaries. I continued to be my happy, playful self, hanging out with my mom and dad and three kiddo human siblings. Then one day I did something really really bad. I don't know why but the cat rubbed me the wrong way and I made her bleed and she went over the rainbow bridge. I am SO SO sorry, and this is the ONLY time I ever hurt anyone. I am really sad that my human brother and sisters saw this and they are afraid of me. They think it would be better if I live with another family, with no other animals. My family still loves me very much, but because they are scared they don't want me to be unhappy when they can't play and cuddle me like before. I am a good girl with soulful eyes full of love. I walk well on my leash so we both can get exercise! Please give me a chance to be your new friend and playmate.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Merlot was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Merlot’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Merlot’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Merlot’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
