About this Dog
THIS IS A COURTESY LISTING FOR ANIMATCH IN MONTREAL, QUEBEC (CANADA) PLEASE CONTACT THEM DIRECTLY FOR ADOPTION INFORMATION https://www.animatch.ca/ 450.452.0321 Cabbot is another homeless dog who was rescued by Animal Control. Unfortunately, the most common cause of stray dogs is the intentional abandonment by the dog’s owner. The dogs that are lucky – if you can call it luck -- are set free or brought to a place where they will be found. Others are tied or dumped somewhere where there is little chance of them being discovered. That is a reality for many, many dogs. Animatch is seeing this happen more often than ever before. True to his breed, this Anatolian Shepherd is quite aloof but keep in mind these dogs were bred to be guardian dogs – sheep, goats, chickens, horses. You have them, he will protect them. Cabott is aloof and reserved, especially with strangers. He is not a pushover and very much an independent thinker. Cabbot needs frequent exposure to people in order to help him recognize the “good guys”. Without continued socialization, he could become suspicious of everyone. Whoever adopts him must be willing to work for his loyalty; he doesn’t not dispense doggy kisses and tail wags liberally. His ideal family would be an experienced one. Cabott was diagnosed with heartworm and he is undergoing treatment. He is on heartworm prevention medication and will be for approximately two years. He has not yet been sterilized and this will only happen in the future. For this reason, he has not been tested with too many dogs. For certain, we would not place him with another male. If you have the experience, the energy, and the desire to change this dog’s life around, please consider adopting him. Cabott needs a human who will not let him down again. Please fill in the Application Form if you have what it takes to adopt Cabott. https://www.animatch.ca/dog-adoption/dog-adoption-application This is a courtesy listing.
