About this Dog
Luna was brought to the shelter after her owner had passed away. Her life was turned upside down and she struggled to adjust after the loss of her owner. After being given some time, Luna began to open up and show everyone that she is a sweet, well-mannered and gentle girl. We do not know much about her previous home, but it was noted that Luna had only lived with a single person her entire life. Luna will do best in a home without small children as she has never lived with children and appreciates her space being respected! She has not lived with cats or other small animals but has been living with other dogs in her foster home. Here is what her foster family has to say:Luna is okay around my dogs now that she is used to them but can be possessive of her human and/or space at times and will occasionally let out a low growl when other animals come into it. She stops with a voice command. She'd be a perfect single pet for someone who wants a good companion and walking buddy. Luna walks amazing on a leash and when tired heels beautifully on her own and continues to trot along. She sits on command and typically comes when called. She does not dig or bark in the yard even when people walk by. When she sees animals (other dogs and we saw a moose) from the car she will bark. She rides in cars well and loves to sleep on her blanket on the couch. She hesitates if loading up into a vehicle with a drop-down closure (like a hatchback) but jumps right in to open vehicle doors otherwise. Luna initially howled and whined when left in her kennel but that has started to dissipate. The other day she went and took a short nap in her kennel on her own. She has not had a single accident inside the house or destroyed anything. She likes to be brushed and has not been bothered at all by any of the thunder noises we have had. Luna sleeps through the night out of her kennel with no issues. She likes her dog bed next to the human bed but stays on it soundly.Meeting other dogs has been fine on walks with positive introductions and keeping treats separated. We really want Luna to find a loving home that she is comfortable in. If you feel that your home would be a good fit for Luna, we would love for you to come and meet her! Please note that she is in a foster home and will need a scheduled visit!

Adopt Luna and Receive Luna's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Luna's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is Luna's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the Luna, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming Luna's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Luna was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Luna’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Luna’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Luna’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
