About this Dog
Bear (A138920) is a 2-year-old pittie mix who weighed nearly 50 lbs at intake!07/05/25 This spunky girl is Bear! Bear arrived at the shelter because the person fostering her was no longer able to and her previous owner was not in a position to have her. Bear is a very sweet young lady! She loves belly rubs and gets along with just about every human she meets. She can be unaware of her size and strength, so she is not very mindful around babies and small children. Bear previously did well with other dogs. However, at her foster, she was said to not do well with the other female dogs in the home. Please use caution when introducing her to other dogs. A lot of things have changed in Bear's life, so she may be looking for some consistency and routine. She was said to be housebroken, but she has not spent much time in a kennel. Miss Bear loves car rides, and she can play a little rough. She needs some help with her manners, as she has been known to jump on people and counters. We highly recommend Bear go to a home without cats. She has been known to not be friendly toward them. This sweet and affectionate lady might be happiest as an only pet! Bear does hate water and will only tolerate a bath if you suffer through it in the tub with her! If you are interested in meeting this unique little lady, please give us a call!

Adopt BEAR and Receive BEAR's Fund
Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, BEAR's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised.
$0.0 is BEAR's current balance
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. If you adopted the BEAR, thank you for providing a home and a loving family!
Please begin the process of claiming BEAR's contribution here.
For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and BEAR was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, BEAR’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the BEAR’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, BEAR’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
