About this Dog
Baloo was found roaming with two other dogs. A Good Samaritan took them in and reached out to us for help. He is 6 months old and weighs approximately 25 pounds. Baloo truly is the best boy. He is generally calm and quiet and has great manners. The kennel is his safe place. He can stay in the kennel for about 7 hours without having an accident. He is working on leash training. He is good with other dogs and people including children but is still working on jumping up on people when he gets excited. He LOVES toys, especially his Bark Box pickle so it’s easy to divert any negative puppy tendencies. Baloo is curious but cautious. He loves long walks and taking in smells or just sunbathing, but is unsure of doorways. He is happy to lay around and be petted. He tends to chase cats but it seems more playful than trying to do harm, so he may have the potential to be cat friendly with more exposure. He is not a fan of car rides so far or baths, but both are new experiences for him. He is food motivated so getting him to take medicine or do something for a treat is very easy. He has been taught him to stay out of the kitchen. As long as you set a boundary with him he'll sit and watch from that point. Baloo is learning very quickly and doing very well adjusting to life as an indoor dog. Our adoption fee is $175 and includes age appropriate vacations, vet check, fecal, deworming, neuter and a microchip. For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the contribution by submitting the necessary information.
The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the contribution. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Baloo was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Baloo’s balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.
We want the Baloo’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Baloo’s balance will remain in our general fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
