About this Dog
Hello everyone, I just updated my profile with new videos of me playing with kids, cats, and a rabbit. My name is PHOENIX (aka Happy) and here is some info about me:Breed: German ShepardAge: 5 years (14/09/2019)Gender: female Weight: 66 lbsHeight: 22-1/2 inchesI was found on the side of a street in an Iranian city with a missing rear paw. It looked like it had been deliberately cut off. Some people here think eating a dog's paw might help them get pregnant. Really. I was left on the street to bleed and to suffer excruciating pain. Thankfully a kind person took pity on me and took me to a shelter where I got the medical care I needed to save my life.I get around very well as a tripaw and am quite active. My rescuers are planning to have an artificial leg made for me and I can't wait to be fitted with it!I'm a gentle and playful girl and get along well with other dogs of all sizes, kids, cats, and even have a rabbit friend. Cats are amusing creatures, though not all that interesting to me. If you have felines in your home, I'll let them have their personal space while I spend time with you. As a loyal german shepherd I'm smart, trainable and will follow your patient guidance as you teach me commands and maybe even some tricks. If you're ready for an awesome loyal dog with the cutest quirky ears, I can't wait to receive your application.Check out my new videos where I run in the woods, hang out with my dog friends, curiously check out a rabbit, and make humans smile with my love. As my nickname 'Happy' suggests; even an amputated limb can't dampen my spirit. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD + applicable taxes. While our rescuers always seek a flight without a charge, there is the possibility of a passenger fee, not to exceed $300.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. More information can be found on our website.Due to ongoing limits on Vancouver flights yet, additional fees will apply if flying from another city. Unaccompanied Cargo costs within Canada: $275-$500 per dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. I will be on the first available flight, as I need to leave the Middle East as soon as possible. If a flight directly to Vancouver is not found quickly after I've found a family, the extra cost for cargo to Vancouver will not be optional. You will NOT be asked to pay a passemger fee in addition to this though.*Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordatella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.
