About this Dog
Hello there! My name is Harold and here is a little info about me:Breed: Anatolian ShepherdAge: 3 years old Gender: MaleWeight: 20 kgHeight: 85 cm (ground to shoulder)Country of Origin: Middle EastHighlight(s): Majestic, fluffy, and soulful-eyed – a true protector with a soft heart!Hello fellow Canadians! I am fairly new to this country but I love it here! With my thick, golden-brown fur and deep, kind eyes, I am both a strong and loyal guardian and, at heart, a gentle soul who just wants love and companionship. Whether I'm playing in the sun, feeling a kind hand on my fur, or peacefully sitting by your side, I’ll always be there to bring warmth to your life, bringing unwavering devotion and the soft comfort of a true companion. I am seeking a confident adopter who can be my pack leader as I am a brave defender who has never hurt anyone but I can surprise people with my bark and defender stance. A year ago, I was found in a small village where life was full of hardship. Some people didn’t understand me, and I was often mistreated, facing constant abuse and harsh conditions. But one day, an angel in the form of a kind-hearted woman saw my pain and gave me a second chance. She took me home, where I finally felt safe. After some time, I moved into a loving foster home, where I’ve been learning what it means to trust again. I have a small wound on my back—perhaps from a past scuffle—but the vet says it will heal just fine. My heart, though, is already healing, thanks to the kindness I’ve been shown. Now, I just need my forever family to complete my journey.I may be big, but I am as gentle as they come. I love to play and bring joy to everyone around me. I adore companionship and enjoy being part of the family, whether that means running around outside or just relaxing near my people. With my loyal nature, I will always be by your side, making sure you feel loved.I would thrive in a home where I get to be part of daily life, whether that’s playing, going on adventures, or simply being near my humans. A family who understands my past and will continue to show me love, patience, and positive experiences would be perfect. Could you be my forever family? My fur may be thick and fluffy, but so is my love. If you’re looking for a sweet, loyal companion, I’d love to meet you!More About Me:Energy Level: ModerateI Get Along With: Dogs: Yes! I love doggy friends. Cats: Unknown – I haven’t met any yet. Kids: Unknown but therefore it's best if I don't live with children.Fears: I tend to be a 'defender of the castle' so a confident adopter would help me to feel secure.Training: Leash skills: Some, But please continue to guide me in my new home.House trained: Yes but please continue to guide me in my new home.Health Notes:I am healthy, and my only physical reminder of my past is a small wound on my back, which is healing well. I have been neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750 CAD plus taxes.Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.[MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.
