Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

German Shepherd Rescue Scotland was established to re-home German Shepherd dogs throughout Scotland. We are a non-profit making organisation, who relies solely on donations to cover the costs of rescuing dogs, these include kennelling, transportation and expensive veterinary fees. Although we cover the whole of Scotland we also work closely with other German Shepherd rescue organisations.
At the rescue we do not discriminate against dogs on the basis of age, medical or behavioural problems. Most rescue dogs come to us through no fault of their own. Their owners may find themselves in a position that they are no longer able to give the care and attention that the breed requires, this maybe through family breakdown or illness. In some cases dogs may be abandoned by an unscrupulous breeder who can no longer make money from them or they could be cruelty cases. Sometimes a dog may just need re-homing because the owner has been forced to move and their new home is unsuitable for a large dog. German Shepherd Rescue Scotland has a 'NO KILL' policy but we need your help to keep these dogs safe.
