Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Our branch was founded in 1979 at a public meeting organised by head office. The inaugural meeting was well attended. From that modest beginning, when we had virtually no money and only one small shed in a volunteer's garden, the branch has grown into a vibrant, well organised branch, based on sound finances, numerous purpose built catteries and underpinned by regular and profitable fund raising.
Over nearly 30 years Exeter Branch has rescued and rehomed thousands of cats and kittens. In recent times we have concentrated on a countywide neutering campaign. Even cold calling in trouble spots. Collecting all the unneutered cats and paying for their operations.
