Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Queenstown Cat Rescue is independent Charitable Trust whose focus is to reduce the numbers of stray cats in the Central Otago area. By using the trap-neuter-return (TNR) method, our volunteers go out, put out cat safe traps with food and once a stray cat is caught, we get it neutered and return it to the place it was found. Those cats which have been abandoned or are young enough to socialise and re-home we endeavor to find them responsible, loving homes.
Queenstown Cat Rescue promotes all animal welfare and supports other local organisation’s which work towards the same goals. We advocate for de sexing of all companion and stray cats whom people are feeding and the early neutering of kittens. Regardless if they are adopted or purchased cats. Please check out our wish list of things you can donate to us.
