About this Dog

I found Abby last year at an abandoned house where she had been left alone. She is, now, kennel trained, house broke, and knows basic commands: sit, lay down, kennel. She is not quite 2 years old. She still has some anxiety from having been abandoned and needs a stable home to keep the anxiety from being expressed. She has come a very long way in this past year. I would love nothing more than to keep her. However, I live in Brazil most of the time as a missionary and it is impossible to take her with me. Airlines are not transporting dogs her size since COVID and I cannot afford the thousands of dollars it costs to fly her through a pet transport carrier each time. (plus all the paperwork it takes for international clearance) We live in a small town in Texas on the border of Oklahoma and I could not find a home for her last year - and then, I quickly fell in love with this smart, silly, and oh so sweet girl. Thinking that I would be in Texas more in the next years, I left her with my parents. I had hoped they could keep her until I am back in the USA more full time. She gets along with and plays really well with their other dogs, however, she does need a little more one on one attention than my parents can give her. Abby is still pretty young with a Malinois energy level, curiosity, and need for stimulation. As my parents are older and a little forgetful it has not made this a good pairing for this good girl. She could stay here, but she would be happier with more human attention and interaction. I think she would make a superstar of a service animal, emotional support pet, and I know she is the queen of sweet dogs. (of course I might be a little biased and am not a professional dog trainer. I know very little and am by no means a dog expert) I hope to find her a good home with people who will love her, train her, and enjoy the sweetest dog ever. She is really smart and learns commands fast. She wants to please and earn her treats and ear and belly rubs. Abby is happiest when she has interaction with her people. She can be a velcro dog - following her person around. But, she is also great at playing with other dogs. Abby is a happy girl and loves attention. She wants to please and is not an alpha. She will lay down and let another dog - or person - be the pack leader. Due to the anxiety if she is left without attention for a long time, she has been known to chew and dig. However, with stimulation and attention she does not chew or dig. I have worked for hours on my computer with her contentedly laying beside me. If she can touch her people, she is not anxious. She can be left outside with another dog to play with (fenced in of course) and she does great! She is just not a solo kind of pup. She needs company. I want her to have a home where she can receive all the love, attention, play, and companionship that a good girl like her should have.

Adopt Abby and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Abby's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Abby receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Abby, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Abby's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Abby was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Abby’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Abby’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Abby’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org. If you would like to make a direct contribution to nokillnetwork.org to help us help other pets in need, you can go here. We appreciate your generosity and help!
