About this Dog

NELLY FEMALE ~ SPAYED ~ TRI-COLOR BULLMASTIFF 90 POUNDS ~ FOUND AS A PUPPY IN JULY, 2020 NELLY IS UP TO DATE ON VACCINES & LICENSED IN OAKLAND COUNTY, MI Nelly currently lives with 3 other dogs, 2 female and one male, and 3 humans. Two of the dogs are 13-year-old seniors; they love Nelly, and she loves them. The third dog, Nova, is a spayed female, who is several months older than Nelly. They got along for the first 6 months or so; however now they do not get along at all and will fight if they encounter each other, which has happened a few times in the past 3 years. It is extremely stressful to keep them constantly separated in our home as we have been forced to do. Nelly has never bitten anyone intentionally. Recently our son accidentally let Nova out of his room while Nelly was out – they immediately began fighting so he reached into the middle of them to try to break them up and was bitten by both dogs on his arms and hand. Nelly has never fought with either of our two older dogs, they play and love on each other. Nelly hasn’t been around small children or cats, so I can’t say for sure how she would react around them. Nelly’s only fault is that she is a little bit food aggressive, she will growl quietly if one of the senior dogs comes around when she is eating. She will let us reach down and pick up her food bowl with no problem, however. I believe with the right training that could be easily fixed. Nelly must be rehomed because we had Nova, the dog she doesn’t get along with, for 8 months before my husband found Nelly and brought her home, and Nova belongs to our teenage son. After the recent mistake when they got out and got into a fight (and he was the only one home with them) we have decided it is too dangerous to keep both dogs in the same house any longer. As much as we love Nelly, she is still young and deserves to spend the rest of her days with people who love her and will take her on walks, let her run, play with her, give her attention, and let her lay around the house like the big baby she is. She loves to snuggle up on the bed with you and lay her head right on your lap. She sleeps on her back with all four legs up in the air and her tongue hanging out. Nelly is completely potty trained and walks perfectly on a leash with a harness. She knows how to sit, shake, and go get her toys among other commands. Currently, Nelly is spending a lot of time in the basement by herself or shut in a bedroom with one or both senior dogs. Nelly is so smart that when she hears a certain ring on my phone, which is my son calling me, she will immediately run to the basement door because she realizes it is Nova’s turn to come out and roam around and she must go downstairs. It’s really very sad.

Adopt Nelly and Receive Dogecoin

Adopting a pet can be expensive, and we're trying to help by fundraising for each individual in need of adoption. After verifying the adoption, Nelly's new family will receive the funds that their pet has raised. Dogecoin is digital currency that can be exchanged for cash, traded, or held as an investment (see the "What is Dogecoin" section below).

How will Nelly receive the Dogecoin?

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. If you adopted the Nelly, thank you for providing a home and a loving family! Please begin the process of claiming Nelly's Dogecoin here.

For adoptions in which nokillnetwork.org was the matchmaker and we have contact information for both parties, we make every effort to contact the adopting family. For adoptions that were not facilitated by nokillnetwork.org, we still encourage the adopting family to claim the Dogecoin by submitting the necessary information.

The adopting family is the only party eligible to receive the Dogecoin. The adopting family will be required to provide proof of adoption between 4-6 weeks after adoption. This is to ensure that the home is a good match and Nelly was not returned. After we have verified the adoption, Nelly’s Dogecoin balance will be sent to the adopting family. Our staff provides instructions and help throughout this process.

What happens to unclaimed funds?

We want the Nelly’s balance to go to the adopting family as a way to say thank you for providing a loving home and to help with pet care expenses. In the unfortunate event we cannot contact them and verify the adoption, Nelly’s balance will remain in our general Dogecoin fund. This fund may be used to match contributions made to other adoptable pets, incentify other adoption-related actions, promote our mission, or support the operating expenses of nokillnetwork.org.
