Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Our Shelter opened in Plainview, NY on May 20th, 2006 and for 5 yrs we operated as a "Shelter-Adoption Center" taking in over 500 kitties and getting them adopted into wonderful homes. Our adoption rate would have been even higher, but after the first 3 yrs, our facility focused on helping adult cats which are in much greater need of help, but also much harder to get adopted than kittens.
When the building where we resided was being sold, our Shelter moved to another location in Plainview, NY in August 2011 and our new facility was operating as a "Shelter-Sanctuary" for kitties that are not adoptable and would otherwise be living outside on the streets struggling to survive. Through rescue efforts, occasionally a very friendly kitty will cross our paths and we will spare no efforts to find them a wonderful home. Five years later, in June 2016, just after our 10 year Anniversary, we were forced to move again because our building was on land that was soon to be excavated and developed. This was a tremendous undertaking, but thankfully we found our forever home in Deer Park, NY to continue our mission and we never have to worry about moving again.
