Woof! Meow! One thing before you go…
Do you need to find a loving home for your pet?
Shelters are often inundated with pet surrenders, and do not want to provide a simple outlet that takes away the obligation of responsible pet ownership. Therefore, they would prefer that people try hard to find a solution before resorting to surrendering their pet to a shelter. If you must find a new home for a pet, please try posting to our adoption portal before placing the burden on the shelter. Direct adoptions work well and allow everyone to share in the accountability of their community!

Fresno Humane Animal Services was founded by a group of like minded people who have been involved in animal welfare for decades. Our goal is to serve the animals and residents of Fresno County and, as of October 1, 2015 we will be providing animal control services for Fresno County. We believe in a forward thinking approach to animal control. Our focus is on education, animal reunification, adoption, and community safety. We will work every day to save as many lives as possible and to make Fresno County a place that can be looked upon as an example of what a community can do when it comes together to improve the lives of the animals in it. Almost a no-kill shelter
